As we approach the start of the season, I wanted to remind everyone of the area of the game that is the most important, but often the most neglected. How you hold the club! There are several ways in which good players can differ in how they hold the club:
Regardless of which grip-type you adopt, the key aspects of any grip are to get the club supported correctly. This is done by positioning the top hand's thumb down the grip so it can support the club when it needs it the most - at the top of the backswing. You will notice that with each of the three types of grip, the visual of the top of my hand is the same - the top hand's thumb is hidden by the bottom hand's first finger and thumb - creating a 'trigger' feeling.
Pop in this weekend to get your grip checked by one of my team.
