I'd like to start this week's newsletter by congratulation Sian on finishing T4 in the Foremost Assistants Championship at The Nottinghamshire earlier this week. Her two-under-par round of 69 is great preperation for Monday's Open final qualifying. Well done, Sian!
I personally think that the finish to last week's Open Championship was the best that I can ever recall. It was two-fold: the standard of play by Stenson and Mickelson was exceptional, as was the coverage from Sky Sports.
Yet again The Open has been won by a player using a Titleist golf ball. This weekend we have a special offer on Sunday where you can bag yourself FREE Titleist golf balls:
- Buy some Titleist balls before your round
- Complete the entry form
- Go out and beat your handicap
- Come back in and receive the same number of balls for FREE
Now that the good weather is upon us, don't forget to take advantage of the shirt amnesty. Bring in an old t-shirt to claim £10 OFF a new one. All the shirts received will be donated to charity at the end of the promotion.
Well done to Nancy Calderwell on shooting a nett 71 to win the ladies Summer Meeting in some glorious weather.
The Kent League A and B teams were in action last weekend; the A Team earned a hard-fought draw away at Sittingbourne but unfortunately the B Team lost at home, again against Sittingbourne.
On Saturday, the Invicta Team won 5-0 at home to continue their successful run of results. Our Kent Vets Team also won 5-1 against Sheerness as they look to retain the trophy they won last year.
