Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Charity Golf Day run by Mike Tindall MBE and Zara Phillips on the 2010 course at Celtic Mannor Golf Resort.
Having played with the club designer and builder for Lynx Golf, it was a real insight into the detail of how they build clubs with new technology, how the modern day clubs have evolved and how changes have effected how the ball reacts off the club face with the modern drivers in particular.
The new driver designs are based around reducing the spin on the ball off the clubface which leads to less side spin and more distance. I would emphasise the need for players to use more loft on their driver as a result of this is reduction in ball spin to ensure that the ball stays in the air longer. I have noticed this with my new Boom Boom 3 driver.
We have trial clubs for all the manufacturers which are there to be used so if anyone would like to take one out when they play next, please pop into the shop and give it a go for FREE. To book a fitting session click here.
Over the last couple of weeks we have been running the Brand Price Fit survey in our email and website. The results are in and I am delighted to say that Jeff Kyle has been drawn out at random to win the dozen TaylorMade Tour Preferred balls that was on offer to one lucky entrant.
The results were reassuring with over 85% of you confirming that FIT was the most important criteria when buying golf equipment. This is great to hear as this is where we can provide the most qualified assistance in golf.
If you have not been fitted before and want to ensure the next purchase you make is tailored to your physique and game then please come into the shop and speak to us. We are here to help.
The 9 and wine was played in a great spirit on Friday evening - well done to Alan Atkins, Jan Morris, Jed Wilton and Bruce Wilton as they won the Texas Scramble event. The next event is on Friday 13th June and costs the usual £10 to include food and prizes - book online as normal.
Well done to Joe Drown, Michael Carr, Cliff Staden & Mike McMorray for winning the Falmouth Trophy with a great score of 96 points. Everyone that I spoke to enjoyed playing the best two from four format. Many are in the same teams for the Captain's Charity Day this Sunday - if anyone would like to bid for the 1st, 10th, 18th or 9th tees please email me your bids to proshop@kingshillgolf.co.uk.
Both TaylorMade and Lynx are now running a free bag with all sets purchased plus the longer distance money back offer. Pop in to the shop next time you are down the club to have a look at all the fantastic offers we have for you this month!
