Well done to everyone who completed both rounds in the Club Championships this weekend! The course was playing great, thank you to everyone for the positive feedback.
With the Club Champion appointed for the year we can now start the quest to find The Best Putter in The Club. We have improved our putting facilities recently with the introduction of the putting studio in the Golf Academy that was installed by Look Real Putt (click here for more information on them).
As mentioned in last week's newsletter, we have two Best Putter in the Club compeitions coming up this Summer.
TaylorMade are sponsoring one event on Sunday 20th July and PING are sponsoring the other on Saturday 23rd August, with each event having a prize donated for the winner from the respective sponsoring brand.
The top 6 from each event qualify for the final (date TBC) which will include the official opening of the new putting studio (pictured here).
This week is the last week that the Titleist Free lesson and Free fitting session is available so book now to avoid missing out. Please see below a note from Peter Russell following his custom fit experience.
'Hi Ben, Just wanted to send a note to say thanks for sorting out my new Titilest MB 714 irons. The irons are superb and give a great feel with the KBS tour shaft that you recommended. The AP2 that I got from you suited me really well so I was always going to come back for another custom fit. On the second round with my new irons on the 14th hit a nice drive to 150 marker and hit a lovely 8 iron with a little draw and holed it! Suffice is to say i'm very pleased! Thanks a lot and see you soon'.
In addition to the Titleist fitting offer we also have the FREE bag offer from TaylorMade and Lynx - Both have demo days next month so click here to book your space now. Dont forget that this is the chance for you to try out the clubs that helped Martin Kaymer storm to victory in the US Open.
Men's Club Championship for 2014 is
Danny Jones (pictured below).
The stand out performance on the first day was Mick Davis with a nett 64 and the overnight leader was Richard Randall who shot a gross 71.
With the greens putting brilliantly everyone that managed to avoid the rough was in with a great chance of putting a good score on the board.
On day two we were blessed with more good weather and the course continued to prove to be a tough challenge to all competitors. The players that missed the cut on the Saturday night were relieved to be playing in the Salver which was a stableford format. The winning score for the Stableford Salver was Sam Reynolds with 40 points.
The Second round saw Danny Jones come from 2 behind shooting a gross 68 to win by one shot. Well done to Danny!
