Welcome to this week's newsletter where we have a full report from our Charity Day and South Professional Championship, as well as news on upcoming events. Enjoy the read!

Charity Day

Dave Kent, Neil Kimmance, Russell McIntyre and Andy Rogers won on countback over second place Justin Spencer, David Frost, Rowley Draper and Martin Coomber, with Steve Burgess, Ian Butcher and Lee and Greg Syrett in third place.

1st, 2nd, 3rd all scored 89 points – which was a great score as the course was set up for the fantastic South Professional Championships played Thursday and Friday (See below).

We had PowaKaddy onsite to demonstrate their new range which impressed the players on the 10th Tee.
Well done to everyone on the day on raising funds for the Kent Association for the Blind and Dandelion Time. All the players enjoyed a great meal after play whilst the prizes were presented to the winners.

PGA Southern Professional Championships

We should all be very proud of our club following last week’s event. The feedback from the professionals was so positive and complimentary about the course, especially and the club as a whole. I know, having spoken to most of the members that took advantage of the opportunity to watch these fine players play their course, that it was a great learning experience. Congratulations to Chris Rogers, his 18 under par score, in what were very difficult conditions on the second day, leading to him lifting the trophy. Adam Wooton shot 10 under par on the Friday morning to tie the course record, as we know our course has exceptional drainage. This was highlighted by the quality of the green before, during and after the torrential rain.
