Titleist Thursday is back!

We are pleased to announce Titleist Thursdays is making a return to Kings Hill golf club this month. Titleist will be here on Thursday 26th April from 1pm to 7pm.

Enjoying the holidays

Good luck to the junior members playing in the Junior Stableford during the half term break! It is great to see so many juniors practicing nd playing during the half term.

Another successful growing Golf Junior Camp

With the Easter holidays in full swing for the Growing Golf juniors it was great to see another full Easter camp this week, playing in fun, competitive competitions is a great way to practice, play and improve.

If you are know a junior that is wanted to start golf or come to the Easter sessions on the 9th & 11th April please contact Mark Trow on mark.trow@growinggolf.co.uk

Course update from Barry

Barry has been working his magic on the course this week, with all the rain we have had we have had the course is in great condition. A quick update on what Barry and the greenkeeping tam have done on the course this week:

'Verti draining fairways, 9inch depth with some heave. Will help drainage, root development, gas air exchange and help relieve compaction.'

'It was a nice morning for spraying greens with AquatrolsEurope Porthcawl and Ferresol iron.

Race night on Saturday 5th May

Come along and join us for a Race Night with 8 races including a bonus Fun Race, plus enjoy a delicious Italian buffet.

Competition news

Kent Closed Championship

This week we hosted the PGA Kent closed championships where the pros and Cat 1 amateurs were competing for the prestigious trophy! Well done to everyone that played on a very windy day.

Well done to Adam Clough who shot an impressive 8 under par!

Masters Par 3
Remember to enter the Master Par 3 Comp this Friday evening. A fun 9 hole par 4 event to welcome The Masters, costing £10 with prizes and food - Mike's amazing Chilli!

It only comes around once a year and it’s that time again - Masters week! The first Major of the year takes place at Augusta National this week, which we always take as a sign that the season is getting underway. With this in mind, we have one question for you: are you ready to play your best golf this year?

Maximise your potential
We've all sat looking at the honours boards in a clubhouse before, admiring the one name that appears to be on most and thinking 'wow, they must be pretty good!'

Well, how good would it feel if that name up in lights was yours? If you come and speak to us we can talk about your strengths, weaknesses and goals for this season and look at the best way to help you achieve them, whether that’s a one-off fault-fixer lesson, regular sessions to aid your consistency or perhaps a look at your equipment.

Grip it and rip it

Any coach will tell you that getting the fundamentals right will go a long way to helping you improve your golf. So the next time you head to the range or course, use these three grip checkpoints to see if yours is holding you back.

Top Hand

In your top hand, the left hand for right-handed golfers, the grip should run from the base of your little finger until it intersects the middle of your index finger. Your hand then wraps around until your thumb rests on the top, as seen above.

Bottom hand

You then have a choice of overlapping, interlocking or using a baseball grip, which is down to your preference. The most common is the overlap grip, which sees the little finger of your bottom hand overlap the index finger and second finger of your top hand.

Checkpoints

Once both hands are set, there should be two ‘Vs’ created by your thumbs and forefingers. These should point towards the right chest as shown by the arrow above. Get this correct and you have a solid grip that helps everything else fall into place.
