Well Rory wins again!
I was in the bar on Saturday lunchtime (not drinking) chatting to a few members after their game of golf as they were dividing up the winnings and telling stories of how one of the group were really struggling with their game, even creating nicknames. This got me thinking about how a player's form both good and bad is temporary, as we have seen with McIllory during the past 12 months.
Your golf as amateurs is no different except that the press ridicule McIory and your playing partners you. The similarity doesn't stop there, both professionals and amateurs seek the advice of PGA Professionals when they are struggling with their game in all areas from method, strategy and equipment.
I have seen this in a couple of examples over the weekend, with players that PGA Professional Mark Trow has worked with to regain focus on their play and gain confidence in their swing again. This can be done by introducing a new swing thought, change in movement or the introduction of a new club/ adjustment to a current club.

Hi Ben, as you know I have been playing with the PING G20s for a while now but when the G30s were launched I decided to take the plunge and order new clubs that were set up to match my G20s, which were also customised by you.
The clubs arrived and when I picked them up and held them for the 1st time I knew I had made a good decision.
On Saturday 9th August I went to the driving range for the first time with my new clubs, and after stretching for a short while I pulled out the hybrid club and smashed the ball straight down the middle of the driving range that put a big smile on my face. Then came the 1st shot with the new driver. I pulled it out of my bag, teed up and BOOM! I hit a lovely drive
The woods look good with the blue shafts and I hit my 1st shot with the new 3 wood on the 2nd fairway I pulled the shot left but luckily it did not go out of bounds and I chipped onto the 2nd green with my new utility wedge.
I finished the front nine with 19 points with a blob on the 3rd and 1point on the 8th overall I was over the moon on the back nine I finished up with 16 points again I blobbed the 14th and I only got 1 point on the 14th & 18th.
Overall I am really pleased with the new clubs, the woods look much better and the overall feel and performance of the irons has improved.
Whilst it's early days with the new clubs I feel that I have made a good decision purchasing the new clubs and I am really looking forward to many more rounds with the G30s and taking some money of my golfing pals.

Thank you to the Ladies committee for their help in running the Ladies open last week.
The Junior open was played on Monday and the conditions weren't so good with the rain and wind from hurricane 'Bertha'.
However all the boys and girls had a good time and some produced some really good scores, none more so than Scott Cullen who won the gross category with a gross 71!
