A tough loss...
The Turkey Trot last weekend was once again a great success.
Congratulations to eventual winners Andy Vale, Glenn Maule, Martin Crouch and David Ashton with an impressive score of 58. Commiserations go to Callum Swift, Jake Bacon, George Farrington and Steve Mallard who just missed out on top spot by 0.1.
As I'm sure all who played will agree, the conditions were testing to say the least so it was great to see so many low scores shot by many of the teams. |
Seniors Stableford result - 6th December 1 - Stephen Fletcher - 39 2 - Peter Brooks - 38 3 - Paul Richards - 38 4 - Michael Corbett - 37 5 - Robert Swainston - 37 |
Seniors Dinner Dance Following the Turkey Trot on Saturday the seniors section had their annul dinner dance, which was a huge success.
Thank you to Mike Kavanagh and the seniors for the invite! The food was fantastic, the band was great and a fun evening was had by all.

Greenkeeper's update The greenkeepers have had a busy couple of weeks with ongoing work being done out on the course.
Last week saw them slitting greens, tees, approaches and fairways. Slitting is a great alternative to solid -ining, and we slit between 2&3 inches in depth. When we solid-tine it can be up to 10inches deep. |
It's good to alternate types of aeration and depth, to help drainage, roots and relive compaction
Im sure you will all agree the course is in fantastic condition at the moment, so thank you to Barry and his team!

We all want to enjoy playing golf, and a big part of this is lowering our handicap. Yes, there will be times when your game isn't up to scratch and you go up .1 a few times in a row, but there'll also be times when all of the puzzle pieces fit and your handicap tumbles. |
What does your graph look like? As the year comes to an end, it's important to take stock and examine where you can improve your game going into the new year. There might be several areas that you want/need to work on, or maybe just two or three finer details that will take your game to the next level. |
Whatever those areas are, we're here to help. We can identify the key reasons you're not shooting the scores you want, as well as devise a personalised winter coaching plan to help iron out those faults and get you paying your best golf. So, if you want to see your handicap tumble in 2019, come down to the shop for a chat - you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. |
