Club news

Welcome Mark Forder our new Food and Beverage Manager

Hi my name is Mark, I am the new Food and Beverage Manager at King’s Hill Golf Course. A little about me is that I have worked in this industry for eight years starting from very casual places such as Wetherspoon’s and the Harvester (I did have a three year break to do a Law degree at Kent Law School, but decided not to pursue that career) before becoming a waiter and barman at the Hythe Imperial Hotel.

After a couple of promotions I decided to move to Aylesford and become Deputy General Manager of the Hengist Restaurant before taking the Bar Manager role of the Thai Orchid in Maidstone.

For the last 11 months I have been the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager of Nizel’s Golf and Country Club and am now looking forward to helping drive King’s Hill Golf Club forward, so if you have any suggestions then my door is always open so please feel free to come and see me. Other than that I look forward to meeting those that I have not already met.

Welcome new assistant PGA Professional Jack Ryan

Hello I’m Jack Ryan, I’ve recently joined the pro team at Kings Hill.

I have been a professional for 4 years now, coaching anyone from junior to senior level, and I’m looking forward to meeting all of the members and hopefully teaching some of them too. I also enjoy playing on the PGA south region and love playing in Pro-Ams. I have many dates for this year with teams I hope to fill, so if you would like to know more information please let me know.

I’ve spent the last 6 months working at the Hong Kong Golf Club, this was a great experience which I learnt so much from.

Hopefully I will remember all your names in the months to come and I’m looking forward to working here!

Competition news

Well done to the Invicta League team!

This week the Invicta team played at home against Westerham Golf Club. Well done to everyone who played and a 4 & 1 victory is very impressive for the first match of the season.

The ladies team also played this week against Wrotham Heath away. The result was a 2-2 draw. The format was 4 ball better ball, which is always fun to play! Well done ladies, a great result away from home!

Course update from Barry, the Course Manager

It's been a busy few weeks for Barry and the green keeping team. You would have seen that this week the tees have had some work done on them.

Barry and the team have hollow cored and over-seeded the tees to encourage a healthy growth for the season ahead. With the heat wave last summer this is an important part of the process to get the tees back to top condition!
