Welcome to this week's newsletter. The Open has started, so we thought we would give this week's edition an Open feel and, of course, we bring you all the latest news from around the club. Enjoy the read.

The Open

With the final major of 2019 finally upon us, there is no better time to get yourself down to the club to watch and play some golf. We currently have in the shop the official 2019 Open Championship printed Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf ball costing £40 per dozen or £72 for 2 dozen. The Pro V1 and Pro V1x will be the most used ball at The Open, so why not play the same ball that the pro's play?

To go along with one of the best 'Majors' in golf we are giving you this 'Major' offer this weekend only. When you purchase a practice range card this weekend you will be entered into a draw to win a dozen of The Open limited edition Pro V1 golf balls!

Growing Golf

This summer holiday the Growing Golf team will be running regular summer camps throughout the holidays. The camp will be comprised of 2 hours of practice covering all aspects of the game to which all juniors of any skill levels are welcome.

Super Seniors

Well done to the Super Seniors for a hard fought win at home to Redlibbets, winning 3-2.

There is still some seniors kit to collect for those who have ordered it. Please pop into the shop to collect.

Mixed Team

Gill's mixed team also tasted success winning in impressive fashion beating Dale Hill 5-3 at home this week. Gill is still lookng for players to play in the following matches:

Monday 5th August away at Bletchingly Golf Club

Sunday 11th August away at Redlibbetts Golf Club

Sunday 18th August at home to Westerham Golf Club

Friendly Team

The club also participated in a friendly match at Mannings Heath Golf Club last weekend. Unfortunately, the result did not go our way, however, well done to all involved.

Invicta Team

The Invicta team also played away this week in a very tight match with 3 matches coming down to the last hole. Unfortunately, the result ddn't go our way but good luck in your next match.

Members' news

Kent 6 Man success

Well done to Kings Hill Golf Club members Jacob Kelso, Tom Shearrard and Ben Quinney for being part of the Kent winning team at the England Golf South East Region Championship.

Kent competing against Surrey, Suffolk, BB&O, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Sussex came away with a team total of 7 under beating Surrey by 4 shots and Jacob and Tom were the lowest scorers in the Kent team consisting of 6 players.

Kent now compete in Huddersfield in the finals later on in the year.

This tops of an excellent few weeks for Jacob as he achieved the same feat for the Kent under 18's 2 weeks ago!

Ladies Summer Meeting

Last Saturday the ladies section competed in there Ladies Summer Meeting, which is always a fun day with plenty of prizes up for grabs! Joy Stevens shot an impressive nett 67 to take first place with Sue Shrubshall shooting 68 to finish 1 behind in second. It was an excellent turnout with 21 lady members competing so well done to everyone involved.

Friday was no different...

A special thanks must go to Louise Fenn for always putting on a great event in the 9 Wine & Dines and last Friday was no different and fun was had by all! The next 9 wine & dine is on Friday 12th August and booking is now open.
