There was a great turnout in the snow blizzard on Saturday as 104 people battled it out in the Monthly Stableford. James Francis led the way in Division One with 39 points, one ahead of runner-up Bob Ford and two ahead of third placed Martin Crouch. Three golfers came in with 36 points to top the leaderboard in Division Two, but it was Malcolm Reardon who edged out David Wood and Chris Rowley to take top spot.
While the men were playing in the blizzard at Kings Hill, Dawn Edwards and Alice Gazet won 5&4 away to Wrotham GC in the Mail on Sunday knockout. Very impressive win in foursomes play.
Francis Jnr wasn't the only Kings Hill Junior achieving success at the club this week. We hosted the European Junior Golf Tour on Wednesday where a field of 51 players, including Kings Hill's very own: Maria Babadi, Luca Babadi, Jake Antoun, Sonny Teale, Charlotte Heard, Olivia Heard, Jacob Kelso and young Scott Antoun (pictured below) playing his first ever event!
Having highlighted the bag and grips in last week's newsletter, one of our members presented us with the clubs pictured here. This is a great example of the obvious neglect of the grip but also an excellent example of golf bag damage to the shaft.
In simple terms: the club has been completely worn through by the golf bag.
I can only suggest you pop in with your bag and clubs to avoid having to buy a new driver like this member has had to! Having said that, I cannot wait to report back in the improvement in play from his new driver which was fitted this week.
