Hello golfers, 

Danny Jones Crowned Club Champion 

I thought I would start this weeks update with a review of the Club Championships. Saturday saw the course play as, many said on the day its best ever with the greens cut and rolled beautifully every putt hit correctly went in. The stand out score of the day Jake Bacon's gross 68 to lead on 4 under par with Danny Jones 2 under and a host of other on the level par mark. 

The only negative was the weather on Sunday morning, however, this softened the course nicely for the big guns in the afternoon. With Bacon, Jones and the ever present Richard Randall in the last group battling it out for the trophy, the old veteran John Crabtree snuck in to clam third place. However Danny blew the rest of the field away on Sunday afternoon with a superb gross 67 a big well done indeed. 


Open Sweepstake 

On the note of winning don't forget to enter our Open Championship sweepstake, entries close on Wednesday night. We will have to see if Rory makes it, anyone looking for a tip form says Speith but I have a feeling we might see more of Tiger than in previous years. He would be my each way bet. 


Quintec Putting System

If I had to bet on a winner I would suggest Padraig Harrington. Having spent the day with his putting coach and inventor of the Quintec putting system which is the best teaching equipment I have ever worked with (its now in our new Putting Lab in the academy), Paul highlighted Padraigs putting as a strength especially on the large double greens at St Andrews.

Driver & Wedge Challenge

We are looking forward to seeing you all in the academy this weekend for the TaylorMade driver and Vega wedge challenge. There's no need to book just turn up between 9am and 3pm to see the new facilities, use the new high tech equipment and hopefully win.
