Many of you would have seen on the internet that the new Titleist 716 irons and 816 hybrids. I was fortunate to be selected as a Titleist and FootJoy Ambassador which has resulted in a new set of sticks. You can see my delight from the photo here. In the bag I have 816 hybrid 3, 4 and 5 with my iron set starting at a 6-iron down to pitching wedge with three specialist wedges to complete my set. I was really surprised at the added control and consistency that the hybrids gave me (I almost opted for the 6-hybrid too!)
It's not just my new clubs which have arrived, we have also received the new custom fitting clubs for the Golf Academy. Six selected members that have purchased Titleist in previous years were selected for a pre-launch fitting day and their new clubs will arrive next week.
I will get their feedback for you next week. Book your Titleist fitting session by clicking here.
Short Range
A lot of you have asked about the new cutting pattern on the short range and the addition of more flags. The plan is to use this as an area that juniors and beginners can use to play a small course before heading onto the full course in the future pre-arranged structured sessions. As well as assisting you all to improve your short game, you will be able to try clubs and be fitted for wedges too.
To assist Barry and his team in maintaining this area please only hit balls from designated areas (indicted by the tee markers and do not pick balls up on the area).
